"My only possible regret, during this earthly adventure,
would be to have not manifested all of the art that's inside me

                      just waiting to come out."
                      - Robert Slagle, 3.24.11

                      My Divine Enthusiasm

My inspiration begins with a deep passion and need for spontaneous expression, play and imagination. My artistic works are reflective of my soul, my heart, my love for nature and deep connection with the divine feminine principle. Every creation is unplanned and a unique intuitive birthing. I become a clear channel for God or the universe to filter through me to create these unique works of art. Each one of them an energy and a vibration. I do not see artwork as static lifeless 2-dimensional objects but as living entities, pulsating extensions of all that is. I embody the essence of androgyny and my art reflects that in its execution.

I revel in the pure creative process losing all consciousness of time and space. I believe this is what Deepak Chopra refers to as "timeless awareness". I look with wonder, joy and humble anticipation as each creation's unique energy and personality is revealed before my eyes. My mentor Louise Rossi has helped me realize that creating art is essential to my overall well-being. It feeds me, it nurtures me and it helps me to grow in all aspects of my life. My ultimate satisfaction comes from the creative burn. I think it's like riding a roller coaster. It's not after but during the ride we experience the thrill and exhiliration. So we run back and do it all over again.... Weeeeeeee!!!

As I continue to create and develop as an artist, I'm enjoying the expansion and evolution of my work I call "The Universe of Slagle". Maybe in some way my work helps others, unconsciously or consciously, connect with and strengthen their own unique creative energy. Or simply just make them smile or feel good. In any case, I hope it makes the world a more interesting place to be, bringing beauty, intrigue and fun.

I was born in Pittsburgh, PA in Saint Claire Hospital on August 15, 1964 to the parents of Donald and Linda Slagle. I am the youngest of three children. I currently reside just a few miles north of New York City in Fleetwood, NY with my significant other, Robert, Rex the cat and the water garden filled with Japanese goldfish. Oh, and the occasional salamander, possum, butterfly, dragonfly, birds, squirrels, bumble bees, ants, ladybugs, praying mantis and spiders.
